ACTIVE ADULT MEMBERSHIPS:
An Active Adult Membership equals savings, savings, savings! Active Adults receive 10% off the resident price for many programs through the Park District, including Adult Trips, Nature and Gardening classes at the Conservatory, sewing and arts classes at our Centers, many fitness classes offered at Dole Center and more. Eligble programs are marked with the "AAM Eligible Symbol" (at right) in the Park District Program Guide.
Active Adult Members also save on daily Drop-In program fees at Longfellow Center, including Chess, Party Bridge, Scrabble and Mahjong!
Once you become a member, you'll start receiving the Out 'N' About - our Active Adult Newsletter, your source for the best information on Park District programs that fit your lifestyle. Mailed to your home six times a year, the Out 'N' About also features a calendar of events and information on our Senior Advisory Committee.
Membership is open to ages 50 & up and is valid for one calendar year.

Drop In Games at Longfellow Center
Programs meet from 10am-2:30pm, every Tuesday
$2 per day for AA members, $3 for non-members or $15 for a full season
Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch and snacks to share. Coffee and tea are provided. Due to the already low cost of these drop-in programs, the Active Adult Membership discount does not apply. Save money by registering in advance! Pay for a 12-week session (Jan 3 - Mar 27) in advance and pay only $15! Call Meredith for more information at (708) 725-2150.
NEW Anything But Bridge
Card Club
This card club meets every week to play virtually every card game....except Bridge! Games include Pinochle, Canasta, Hearts, Spades, Poker - you name it. The list is endless! Cards, coffee and tea are provided.
Chess
Calling all chess players, it's your move! Join us at Longfellow Center to meet your match. Players of all levels are welcome. Pre-registration is recommended.
Party Bridge
Join us at Longfellow Center to play one of the world's most widely played card games. Players of all levels are welcome, but you must have a basic knowledge of the game. No partner necessary.
Scrabble
Join us at Longfellow to play this classic crossword game. Bring your dictionary, challenge your mind and possibly build your vocabulary.
Mah Jongg
Mah Jongg is a game of skill, strategy, calculation and chance similar to the card game rummy. Join us to play this Chinese puzzle game that has been around since ancient times. Players of all levels are welcome.

Meets 4th Thursday of the month!
Starting in 2012, Book Worms will have a new home and a new time at Cheney Mansion!

Challenge yourself by setting a goal to read one new book per month. This club also gives you the opportunity to meet new people and socialize! Join the Book Worms Book Club to discuss our book of the month with a list of questions developed by Park District staff. You may either pre-register or pay by cash or check upon arrival. Don't like the books you see listed? Call the Active Adult & Special Interest Supervisor to make known the books you'd be interested in reading! Copies of these books are reserved for the Book Worms at the Oak Park Public Library Main Branch under the name, "Park District of Oak Park Book Worms".

Stay current on local and world news in our Current Events Discussion Group! Bring a news article clipping that you would like to discuss with the group. Coffee and Tea will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring snacks to share.

Senior Dancing Hour
Meets 3rd Monday of the month at Longfellow Center!
Dance the afternoon away at the Longfellow Center! Deejay James Rohrbacher will play all of your old favorites, including jitterbug, cha cha, salsa, swing, rhumba, waltz, tango, line dance and ballroom. Bring a partner, come with a friend, or arrive solo and meet new people!
Preregister and save, or pay $2 at the door.

Memory Keepers
Everyone has a story to tell. Memory Keepers is designed to help you organize your thoughts and give you a starting point for saving those memories for future generations of your family to enjoy. A different topic will be presented each time the program meets with questions to help guide you. Discussion will get the creative juices flowing. Prior to leaving each session you should have a rough outline of your thoughts to take home where you will finalize the memory to be kept. $8/$12 Location: Longfellow Center
